The Reading Room extension has been designed to add a bright and quiet relax space to an existing Edinburgh villa from the first decade of XXth century. This modernist and minimalist interior provides a visual connection with garden space via fully glazed south facing façade. Grand sliding door provides an easy access to the garden, and when open in summer days, creates the illusion of garden and home being one homogenous unit. Strip, frameless rooflight adds to the character of the space and delivers even more daylight into the Reading Room. Extension’s floor to ceiling height ties in with the existing villa’s levels creating spacious interior.
